Wasp Control In Nampa, ID
Why You Don't Want Wasps On Your Property
Wasps are not very many people's favorite animals. They are aggressive. They sting. And they buzz around your picnic table while you're trying to eat. However, these insects are actually very beneficial to the environment. They are pollinators, just like bees. In fact, some species (like the fig) would go extinct without their corresponding pollinator wasps. Wasps also provide population control services for lots of other pests by preying on them.
Still, while this might mean you don't want to get rid of all the wasps on the planet, you certainly don't want to be rolling out the red carpet for them in your backyard. Some wasp species are docile and won't even defend their nests if you disturb them. Other types of wasps will fly off the handle at the slightest provocation, swarming by the thousands and stinging anything in their path. These wasps are the main reason why you want to keep your Boise, Meridian, Middleton and Nampa area property free from all wasp varieties. It's a lot easier to just prevent wasps than it is to control them on a species-by-species basis.

Are wasps dangerous?Wasps can certainly be dangerous. Not only are there many species of wasp that are highly aggressive and will swarm and sting repeatedly in defense of their nests. Wasp venom is also a very common cause of anaphylactic shock and can pose a mortal danger to anyone with an allergy to bee and wasp stings.
-
How do I know I have wasps?Wasps are not like many other pests. They will make no effort to hide from you. If you have a wasp nest on your property, you may see the nest itself. Even if you don't see a paper nest, you will notice a significant uptick in the number of individual wasps you see. If you see them coming out of holes in the ground or hollows in trees, their nests are likely nearby.
-
What do I do if I have a wasp infestation? If you realize you have a wasp infestation, never attempt wasp nest removal on your own. The danger of setting off an attack is too great. Just call the experts here at Pristine Green Pest Defense. We can put a stop to wasps without endangering your family or pets in the process.

Our Wasp Control Process
Here at Pristine Green Pest Defense, our experts start our wasp prevention process with a thorough inspection of your property. We will look for wasp nests under eaves, along the fence line, in trees and bushes, and around other areas where they typically like to nest. We'll also talk to you to see what areas you are seeing wasp activity to ensure we catch every instance of wasps.
Next, we'll start our initial treatment. We will use a liquid product first, applying it to the nest to eliminate the wasps inside. This allows us to subsequently remove nests without risking an attack. We have specialty equipment we can use to get nests as high as 30 feet, which allows us to remove nests as high as necessary on most homes and businesses. For aerial nests, we can also clip branches to bring the whole nest down and remove it from the area.
As far as follow-up goes, we recommend a quarterly or bi-monthly wasp treatment. Our warranty also allows you to call for additional treatments in between scheduled service calls if you begin seeing wasp activity.

Let Pristine Green Pest Defense Protect You
Wasp removal is not something you want to try on your own. This isn't just because most of the wasp control products you can buy at the store are highly dangerous to any people and pets that come into contact with them. It's also because attempting to get rid of a wasp nest without the proper equipment and training can result in a prolonged and violent attack.
There are multiple social wasp species that will swarm in defense of their nests. Their philosophy is typically to sting first and ask questions later. Local species that will attack in defense of their nests include:
- Yellow jackets
- Baldfaced hornets
- Paper wasps
Since wasp identification is not always easy for the untrained eye, it can sometimes be difficult for some people to tell if they are looking at a harmless mud dauber or an aggressive hornet.
Furthermore, you may not even be aware there's a nest at all. This is especially true with ground-nesting wasps like yellow jackets. It's easy to run over their nest with a lawnmower or otherwise disturb it without ever realizing it was there. This is why the best thing you can do to get rid of wasps around your home is to call the experts here at Pristine Green Pest Defense.
